The absolute saddest excuse for chicken strips I've experienced thus far. Your 18$ nets you three lukewarm, prepared chicken strips from a bag soggy fries and a scoop of bile disguised as a slaw. OH and two big portions of sauce, if you weighed it out you would probably have more sauce than chicken.
My friends and I were having a great time up until our server, Ryan, wanted to settle the bill. We were on the patio. It was not closing time and the server suggested we settle up, so we agreed. We figured he was leaving and a new server would take his place. All good.
We had been unsure about ordering more food, but we were still hungry, so we decided to order something else. The server left to punch in our order and then came back to check that we were sure about it. However this time, he was no longer nice or pleasant. He was rude, impatient & slightly aggressive. I'm not sure what happened between the moment that we initially ordered food and the moment he came back to clarify the order, but the sharp change in his tone was unwarranted and inappropriate. Nobody at the table understood what set him off, as he had been pleasant up until then. Regardless of whether we had been indecisive, it did not warrant such a negative attitude towards our group.
We spent a lot of money there and are generally a pretty easy going bunch. I understand that staff are busy and deal with a lot of hoopla, but we were there to eat, drink and have a good time....not to be scolded by our server. Very disappointing experience.
Quite a conflict with the serving staff last night. Someone urinated on the floor in the woman’s bathroom, this was not some accidental overspray it was clear someone had flooded the floor with the pee on purpose. The smell was so rank and you had no choice but walk through the piss. I notified staff early in the evening. A couple hours later they hadn’t cleaned it so I grabbed some water jugs and poured it over to at least dilute it a bit (there is a drain in the floor). Really small bathroom and what I did helped. Call me a bathroom vigilante but I don’t know what has happened to wait staff that they can’t use a mop!!??!? Too precious or “above” cleaning, no idea but the abuse I copped from the staff was totally unwarranted… they said I introduced a spill hazard but the hazard was there already, a huge pee in a tiny bathroom. Rant done and I hope the owners will give the staff a good stern talking too.
First off, our server was BRILLIANT and the food was fantastic. The 3 stars only is because we ordered the hot cauliflower “wings” and didn’t have the ranch or blue cheese because dairy allergies. The wings were HOT so we asked for a side of vegan mayo (which was on my burger) and we were charges $2.10.
Seems petty since we didn’t see a reduction for NOT getting the other dips. 🤷♂️
Came here for the brunch and caesars. Decided on sharing a nacho with ground beef. When it arrived it was kinda small, i like it when they serve it tall with chips. But omg. Did i love it. It was very good. The caesars with pepperoni were very good. A bit spicy for my friend but ok for me. The staff at our table was new, but he did ok. I am sure he will get better with time. Patio is nice. Will come back
The drinks are VERY delicious and priced well. The vibe is that of a fun bar, and welcoming. We had burgers and fries, again priced appropriately and delicious. Will for sure be back when hanging around Davie.
We initially came here because Granville Brewery was celebrating the release of their new Sour Peach beer and we had two complimentary drinks. Ended up eating lunch here and the food is absolutely amazing. The philly dip already has so much succulent gravy that you don’t even feel the need to dip. If you do dip, you get this incredible flavorful bite. We were recommended to get the Cajun Chicken Clubhouse with only two slices of bread and that was such a great idea. The sandwich tastes like it’s loaded with ingredients. The soup of the day was tomato soup and it had such a nice consistency and was so fresh. I’m not a big drinker of beer but I was actually quite impressed with the peach sour. It had a nice flavor to it that makes it not as bitter as other beer. Would definitely recommend coming here. We had to wait about 15 min for a table because it’s patio dining only right now but the wait is totally worth it. The service is also top notch.
Edit: We were recommended to get the dessert which I think was a cherry cheesecake with chocolate drizzle. It was so good! It’s not a heavy like New York Cheesecake. It s a soft, light cheesecake with what tasted like an Oreo crust. It was so good! And even though we were pretty full, it is actually a nice finisher to the meal. We split it between two people. The desserts rotate so it isn’t on the menu.
Bad service, a waiter asked me for my ID. It was the only bar in all of Vancouver that asked me for it. My appearance is that of an adult boy and he told all my friends that we had to leave. We feel a certain situation of racism and xenophobia because we are Latino. I will really tell the entire LGTBQ+ community not to visit this site.
